PSG Targets Osimhen and Six Other Signings After Club World Cup Loss to Chelsea

French champions prepare transfer overhaul under Luis Enrique

After falling short against Chelsea in the Club World Cup final, Paris Saint-Germain is preparing a major squad revamp for the 2025/26 season. According to reports from L’Équipe and GOAL, Victor Osimhen tops a list of seven potential signings as the Parisian club looks to boost depth and performance across multiple positions.

Osimhen Leads PSG’s Transfer Wishlist

The Nigerian striker, currently contracted to Napoli, is PSG’s top attacking target, although negotiations remain complicated. Osimhen, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, is reportedly in talks with the Turkish side for a permanent move. However, PSG remains in the race, hoping to convince the player with a long-term project and Champions League ambitions.

Also on the radar is Rafael Leão, with the club looking to reinforce its attacking options following the departure of Kylian Mbappé.

Midfield and Full-Back Reinforcements Planned

Despite a strong midfield trio in João Neves, Vitinha, and Fabián Ruiz, head coach Luis Enrique wants another experienced player in the center. PSG had hoped to sign Joshua Kimmich, but the German renewed his contract with Bayern Munich, making a move unlikely this summer.

The team is also seeking two full-backs as alternatives to Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes, both of whom are crucial to Enrique’s tactical setup. The lack of suitable replacements has exposed the squad’s depth in key matches.

Potential Departures Could Spark Defensive Shake-Up

In defense, Lucas Beraldo and Lucas Hernández could both be on their way out. Beraldo, formerly of São Paulo, has reportedly requested a transfer following the Club World Cup, seeking more playing time. Manchester United is monitoring the Brazilian defender, while Atlético Madrid is interested in Hernández.

PSG has already lined up a potential replacement in Ilya Zabarnyi, the Ukrainian center-back currently at Bournemouth.

New Goalkeeper Confirmed: Renato Marin

PSG has also confirmed a new signing between the posts. Renato Marin, a 19-year-old goalkeeper with dual Brazilian and Italian nationality, joins the team. Formerly with Roma, Marin is seen as a long-term investment for the future of PSG’s goalkeeping department.
