Flamengo will have to pay R$224 million to sign Lucas Paquetá from West Ham

Flamengo has learned the full cost of a potential blockbuster move for Lucas Paquetá, as West Ham United reportedly set a price of £30 million (approximately R$224 million) for the Brazilian midfielder, according to Mail Sport.
If completed, the deal would make Paquetá the most expensive signing in Brazilian football history.
West Ham Open to Selling
Paquetá, who rose through Flamengo’s academy ranks before heading to Europe, has never hidden his desire to return to the club. Now, that dream could materialize sooner than expected.
West Ham is reportedly open to selling the 26-year-old, provided their financial demands are met. So far, Flamengo has not commented publicly on whether they are willing to meet the asking price.
Manchester City Also Back in the Race
Paquetá is also attracting renewed attention from Manchester City, who previously came close to signing him. The deal collapsed at the final stages due to an FA investigation, but reports suggest the Premier League champions remain interested.
City’s presence in the race could significantly raise the stakes for Flamengo if they intend to bring the midfielder home.
Flamengo’s Aggressive Transfer Window
The Rio giants are already making headlines this transfer window. In addition to monitoring Paquetá, Flamengo has signed Spanish midfielder Saúl Ñíguez from Sevilla and is reportedly in talks with Gabriel Jesus, currently recovering from injury at Arsenal.
Another potential signing is Samuel Lino, a Flamengo youth product currently with Atlético Madrid. Lino is also being targeted by Napoli but is said to prefer a return to Brazil.
Paquetá’s Form and Future
Now a key player at West Ham, Paquetá is considered one of the Premier League’s most dynamic midfielders. His technical ability and attacking instincts have drawn praise across Europe.
With his legal situation in England reportedly nearing resolution, clubs are expected to ramp up negotiations in the coming weeks.
