Chelsea could lose Christopher Nkunku, who agrees to move to Bayern Munich

Christopher Nkunku could be on the move once again, just one year after joining Chelsea. The French attacker has reportedly agreed to a transfer to Bayern Munich, with talks between the clubs now progressing.

Bayern Munich Reignite Interest in Nkunku

According to TEAMtalk, Bayern have turned their attention to Nkunku after failing to secure Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams earlier this summer. The Bundesliga giants see Nkunku as a proven solution to reinforce their attacking line ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The Frenchman has already approved the potential move, paving the way for formal negotiations between the clubs.

Proven Bundesliga Track Record

Nkunku is no stranger to German football. During his time at RB Leipzig, he became one of the Bundesliga’s most lethal attackers, netting 70 goals in 172 matches and winning the DFB-Pokal twice.

His familiarity with the league and proven output make him an attractive prospect for Bayern, who are urgently looking to finalize their summer reinforcements.

Chelsea Open to Selling Nkunku

At Stamford Bridge, Nkunku has struggled to establish himself in the starting XI, largely due to injuries and fierce competition. The recent arrivals of João Pedro, Liam Delap, and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens have further complicated his path to regular minutes under new manager Enzo Maresca.

With limited opportunities on the horizon, Nkunku is open to leaving, and Chelsea are willing to negotiate a permanent transfer. The asking price is reportedly around £40 million, a figure slightly below the fee paid to RB Leipzig in 2023.

Transfer Could Be Completed Soon

Bayern are moving quickly to wrap up the deal before the end of the transfer window. With Nkunku already giving his approval, the final hurdle is reaching a financial agreement with Chelsea.

If terms are settled soon, the 26-year-old could return to the Bundesliga before the new season begins potentially becoming a key figure in Bayern’s revamped attack.
