Chelsea agrees to sell Cole Palmer to Real Madrid, but demands €250 million

Chelsea has set a €250 million (R$1.6 billion) price tag for star winger Cole Palmer, amid growing interest from Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.
The 23-year-old Englishman, one of the breakout stars of European football, was instrumental in Chelsea’s recent Club World Cup victory and has quickly become one of the most sought-after talents on the continent.
Chelsea Willing to Sell — But Only for a Record Fee
According to reports, Chelsea is open to selling Palmer, but only if their valuation is met. The €250 million asking price would make Palmer the most expensive player in football history, surpassing Neymar’s €222 million move from Barcelona to PSG in 2017.
Palmer has impressed with his productivity since arriving at Stamford Bridge, tallying 43 goals and 28 assists in 97 appearances an average of 0.73 direct goal involvements per game.
Real Madrid Unlikely to Meet Demands
While Real Madrid is keen to strengthen its squad under Xabi Alonso, insiders suggest that club president Florentino Pérez is unwilling to pay over €100 million for a single player this summer.
The Spanish giants are currently prioritizing midfield reinforcements in the post-Kroos era. Their key targets reportedly include Rodri (Manchester City) and Enzo Fernández (Chelsea).
Other Clubs Monitoring Palmer’s Situation
Palmer’s former club, Manchester City, is also said to be keeping tabs on the situation, as is PSG, which is seeking to rebuild its attacking force following Kylian Mbappé’s departure to Madrid.
Chelsea, meanwhile, remains active in the transfer market. The London club has recently brought in Liam Delap, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and João Pedro, and is reportedly eyeing a move for Kenan Yıldız though Juventus is reluctant to part ways with the Turkish international.
