Amar Dedić Officially Presented at Benfica: “I’m Here to Win Titles and Honor the Red Jersey”

The Austrian-Bosnian full-back arrives from Salzburg and signs with Benfica until 2030, bringing ambition, energy, and a winning mindset.

Benfica has unveiled its newest reinforcement: Amar Dedić, a talented 22-year-old right-back who joins the Lisbon giants from Red Bull Salzburg. The Bosnian international signed a long-term contract until June 2030 and was officially presented this week at the Estádio da Luz.

From his first words, Dedić made it clear he’s here to win.

“I want to win titles and games with the team. That’s the most important thing,” said the defender. “I’ll give everything for the club.”

Knows Benfica, Respects the Legacy

Dedić didn’t arrive blindly. The full-back revealed he already knew Benfica’s history, its legends, and its fans. He’s even faced the Eagles before and praised the “unique” atmosphere at Estádio da Luz.

“It’s an honor to wear this jersey. Benfica is a huge club, with tradition, quality, and passionate fans,” he stated during the press conference.

Style of Play: Dynamic and Offensive

Amar Dedić described himself as a modern full-back aggressive in attack, responsible in defense, and well-suited to the type of football Benfica plays under Bruno Lage.

“I love to be involved in attack, overlapping and helping build up play. I also take my defensive duties very seriously.”

His profile matches the philosophy at Benfica: intensity, width, and commitment on both sides of the ball.

Ambition: Titles First

From the moment he stepped into the club, Dedić left no doubts about his priorities. His eyes are firmly set on lifting trophies and becoming a key contributor in the coming season:

“I know playing for Benfica is a big challenge. But I’ll work hard to prove myself and live up to expectations.”

He also acknowledged the pressure of wearing red, calling it a “huge responsibility,” but emphasized that he’s ready for it.

“Contribute to the collective dream”

Dedić closed his presentation with a message that Benfica fans will love:

“I want to contribute to the collective dream that moves everyone who wears the red jersey.”

He also mentioned his goal of adapting quickly to the squad and style of play, promising effort, professionalism, and heart from day one.
