AC Milan Sign Luka Modrić and Target Lucas Vázquez in Transfer Spree

Serie A giants continue Real Madrid raid as they rebuild for new European season

AC Milan have officially signed Luka Modrić on a two-year deal and are now working to secure another former Real Madrid star: Lucas Vázquez. The Italian club is moving decisively in the transfer market as it looks to reinforce the squad ahead of the upcoming European season.

Modrić Joins Milan After Emotional Madrid Farewell

After Real Madrid opted not to renew Luka Modrić’s contract, the Croatian legend received an official send-off during the Club World Cup in the United States. Despite being 39, Modrić confirmed that he has no plans to retire just yet.

The veteran midfielder has now signed with AC Milan, where he will wear the number 14 shirt. Speaking at his unveiling, Modrić reiterated his ambition to remain competitive and even participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Lucas Vázquez Could Follow Modrić to San Siro

According to the English outlet Transfer Feed, Milan are not stopping with Modrić. The club is now pursuing Lucas Vázquez, who is also a free agent after leaving Real Madrid earlier this summer.

The 33-year-old winger/full-back is drawing interest from multiple clubs. While Milan hope to reunite him with Modrić, competition for his signature is fierce.

Offers from Brazil, Saudi Arabia, and Spain

Reports from Defensa Central suggest that Davide Ancelotti, now managing Botafogo, personally invited Vázquez to join the Brazilian club. However, the Spaniard reportedly declined the offer.

Vázquez also has a formal offer from Villarreal, as well as interest from Saudi Arabia, encouraged by former teammate Nacho Fernández. Despite the attention, the player is said to be taking his time before making a final decision.

Strong Final Season at Madrid

In his final campaign with Los Blancos, Lucas Vázquez made 53 appearances, scored two goals, and contributed seven assists. Known for his versatility and experience, he remains a valuable asset for clubs seeking reliable wide options.
