Real Madrid eliminates RB Salzburg and guarantees place in the knockout stages of the Club World Cup
Real Madrid beat RB Salzburg in a match valid for the third round of the Club World Cup group stage. Los Blancos defeated the Austrian team by a score of 3-0. With the victory, the Spanish team advanced to the round of 16, while Salzburg said goodbye to the FIFA tournament.
How Real Madrid won
Real Madrid started the match at risk of elimination. With Al Hilal’s victory, which took place in the other game of the round, whoever lost the duel between RB Salzburg and Real Madrid would have been eliminated from the tournament. However, Los Blancos had no difficulty in avoiding an early exit from the FIFA Club World Cup.
In the 39th minute of the game, Vinicius Júnior opened the scoring for the Spanish team, with a beautiful goal after a fast sprint. Still in the first half, the Brazilian provided the assist for Federico Valverde to extend Los Blancos’ lead. In the second half, in the 83rd minute of the match, Gonzalo Garcia sealed Real Madrid’s 3-0 victory.
