Barcelona Agrees to Sell Noah Darvich to Stuttgart After Signing Nico Williams

La Masia talent departs as part of Barcelona’s ongoing financial restructuring amid transfer activity.
Following the high-profile acquisition of Nico Williams, Barcelona have made another significant move in the summer transfer window this time involving a departure. The club has agreed to sell German midfielder Noah Darvich to VfB Stuttgart, marking the first confirmed player sale of the window.
Darvich Returns to Germany
At just 19 years old, Noah Darvich had been seen as one of La Masia’s brightest prospects. After joining the Blaugrana academy from SC Freiburg in 2023, the attacking midfielder impressed in the youth ranks and earned occasional training sessions with the first team.
However, before he could make his senior debut under Hansi Flick, Darvich has been sold to Bundesliga side Stuttgart for €650,000 (approx. R$4.2 million). According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, the deal does not include a buyback clause or future percentage rights for Barcelona, which has sparked frustration among some fans online.
Contract Details
- New Club: VfB Stuttgart
- Transfer Fee: €650,000
- Contract Length: Until June 2029
- Buyback Clause: None included
- Termination Clause: Not disclosed
Darvich’s Youth Career in Numbers
Darvich made a name for himself in Germany’s youth national teams and was part of the U-17 World Cup and European Championship-winning squads. At La Masia, he was a standout for Barcelona Atlètic, scoring 3 goals and registering 2 assists.
In 2025, he played in the UEFA U-19 Euros, contributing 1 goal and 1 assist in just 2 appearances.
A Window of Change at Barcelona
While Barcelona have already activated Nico Williams’ €58 million release clause, that deal has hit a temporary snag after Athletic Bilbao filed a formal complaint to La Liga, attempting to block the transfer.
At the same time, Barça continue to offload players to stay within La Liga’s financial fair play regulations. Alongside Darvich, several names like Ansu Fati, Christensen, and Oriol Romeu are rumored to be on the market as well.
Fan Reaction
The news of Darvich’s exit, especially without a buyback clause, has not sat well with many supporters. A number of fans took to social media, expressing disappointment over the club parting ways with a youth talent who was on the cusp of a breakthrough.
