THE GAME

Universidad de Chile did its part and thrashed Carabobo in its quest to qualify for the Conmebol Libertadores. On Tuesday, the Chileans beat the Venezuelans 4-0 at the National Stadium in Santiago and provisionally took the lead in Group A of the competition. With the victory, Universidad de Chile moves to 10 points and takes the lead in Group A. At the same time, it makes the match between Botafogo and Estudiantes, this Wednesday, at the Nilton Santos stadium, a real decision. If the Argentines triumph at the Engenhão, Glorioso will be eliminated with one round to spare, and Estudiantes will take the lead.
