In a thrilling clash at the Stadium of Light, Sunderland secured their place in the Championship play-off final after drawing 1-1 with Coventry City. The result saw the Black Cats progress on aggregate, 3-2.

The game was decided in dramatic fashion in added time when Dan Ballard headed in an Enzo Le Fée corner to send the home crowd into raptures.

Earlier, Coventry had levelled the tie on aggregate with a 76th-minute goal from Ephron Mason-Clark, reigniting hopes of a comeback. However, Sunderland kept up the pressure and were rewarded in the closing stages.

With the win, Sunderland will face Sheffield United in the final at Wembley on 24 May.
