Rennes beat Nice in the penultimate round of Ligue 1
Rennes logically took the upper hand over Nice (2-0) this Saturday, during the 33rd day of Ligue 1.

A committed start to the match quickly turned in Rennes’ favor, taking the lead thanks to Kalimuendo’s close-range volley from Brassier after good work from Blas (1-0, 15th). A goal that forced the Aiglons to react but the post repelled a header from Mendy while Samba stretched perfectly to a cross shot from Bouanani. A lack of efficiency that SRFC took advantage of as Cissé thought he had doubled the lead with a brilliant curling shot into the far corner before the goal was disallowed for a foul by Kalimuendo on Boudaoui.
In the second half, the Algerian midfielder returned, but this time in the opposition’s box. He earned a penalty for a foul by Rouault, but Laborde couldn’t take it as he was ultimately flagged offside at the start of the action. Boudaoui, who was always in the mix, finally lost a fatal ball that allowed Kalimuendo, played in by Matusiwa, to score a brace (2-0, 80th). The podium is over for Nice, who missed out on their meeting at Roazhon Park.
