Bayern Munich thrash Hoffenheim at the end of the Bundesliga

Bayern Munich ended their 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign with a 4-0 win over Hoffenheim at the PreZero Arena in Sinsheim on Saturday (17). The match marked Thomas Müller’s farewell to the Bundesliga, ending an era at the Bavarian club.

Even with a mixed team – top scorer Harry Kane only came on in the second half due to a back injury – Bayern showed superiority. In the 34th minute, Michael Olise opened the scoring with a beautiful free kick. In the eighth minute, Kimmich extended the lead with a deflected shot. In the 35th minute, Gnabry scored the third with a well-placed shot. But the top scorer’s goal was still missing. In the 40th minute, Kane took advantage of a pass inside the area and scored the fourth, consolidating the Bavarian victory.

With this result, Bayern reached 82 points for the season, equaling their score from the 2019/20 season. The team, however, was just one goal away from reaching the 100 mark for the season .

In addition to Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund will also go to the Champions League for the 2025/2026 season. Freiburg will go to the group stage of the Europa League, and Mainz to the Conference League.

Thus, Hoffenheim, despite the defeat, finished with 32 points and in 15th place. Therefore, Holsten Kiel and Bochum were relegated. Heidenhein goes to the playoff with the third-placed team in the 2.Bundesliga.

The match, however, marked the farewell of Tom Bischof from Hoffenheim, who is leaving the club.

In this way, Bayern turns its attention to the Club World Cup, which will be held in June in the United States.
