Aston Villa will reward fans on the season ticket waiting list if they attend Aston Villa Women’s matches.
The Birmingham club, which has 45,000 people on the waiting list for season tickets, announced Thursday that it will award bonus points to those who attend its women’s home matches.
When awarding season tickets, Villa awards points for being a member of the club and for each Premier League, domestic, and European cup match attended. Starting this season, the club will also consider Aston Villa women’s matches, in an initiative aimed at boosting the team , which finished sixth this season in the Women’s Super League under the direction of Spaniard Natalia Arroyo.
According to Villa data, 46% of those 45,000 fans on the waiting list have not attended a single men’s team match in the last two seasons.
