Saka scores after three months, and Arsenal beat Fulham
Striker scores in his first game of 2025 to help team close gap to Liverpool; Gabriel Magalhães suffers muscle injury

The guy is back!
With Saka, Arsenal can dream bigger . The striker returned to action after three months out due to injury and scored one of the goals in the 2-1 victory over Fulham on Tuesday. The match was played at the Emirates Stadium, valid for the 30th round of the 2024/25 Premier League . Saka’s goal came in the 28th minute of the second half, and before that, striker Merino had scored his, in the 37th minute of the first half. Center forward Rodrigo Muniz scored in injury time.
Match Highlight
Saka had not played since December 21st last year , when he suffered a serious muscle injury during the game against Crystal Palace. He even had to undergo surgery. Today he came on the field in the 21st minute of the second half, replacing Nwaneri. Shortly after, he completed Merino’s cross, in a play started by Gabriel Martinelli.
Concern for the Champions League
Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhães suffered a muscle injury in the back of his right thigh early in the game, less than 20 minutes into the game. He fell to the ground in great pain, required treatment and was later replaced by Kiwior. Gabriel Magalhães is Arsenal’s outfield player with the most minutes on the pitch this season, in all competitions: 3,500 minutes, in 42 games (out of a possible 46). Arsenal face Real Madrid next week in the Champions League.

With this result, Arsenal reduced the gap to leaders Liverpool to nine points (70 to 61). Their next game will be on Saturday, against Everton, at Goodison Park. Fulham, in turn, face Liverpool on Sunday, at Craven Cottage stadium.
