ONLY GOALS ARE GOOD!

PSG beat Aston Villa 3-1 on Wednesday in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. Although the French side dominated the match from start to finish at the Parc des Princes, it was the visitors who opened the scoring in the 35th minute, when Morgan Rogers took advantage of a mistake by Nuno Mendes when clearing the ball. Four minutes later, Doué shot from outside the area and found the corner of Dibu Martínez to equalize. In the second half, Kvaratskhelia made a sensational dribble past Konsa to finish powerfully in the corner and turn the game around for PSG. In injury time, Nuno Mendes received a beautiful pass from Dembelé, dribbled past the goalkeeper and finished with his right foot to extend the lead.

AND NOW?

With their 3-1 win on Wednesday, PSG will go into the second leg with a big advantage. The French side will visit Aston Villa next Tuesday at Villa Park, and can be defeated by a single goal to advance to the semi-finals. Any victory by the English side by two goals will take the match to extra time and, if the score is still tied on aggregate, penalties. Whoever comes out on top will face the winner of the duel between Real Madrid and Arsenal in the semi-finals.
