Arsenal defeats Real Madrid and advances to the Champions League semi-finals

There was no sign of a comeback . Arsenal were once again superior to Real Madrid and also won the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals . They won 2-1 this Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. This closed the aggregate score at 5-1. Striker Saka missed a penalty kick in the 13th minute, but then made up for it with a beautiful goal in the second half. Vinicius Junior even tied the match, but Gabriel Martinelli sealed the English team’s qualification for the semi-finals by scoring in injury time.

Arsenal will face Paris Saint-Germain, who eliminated Aston Villa, in the semi-finals. The games will be on April 29 and 30, and then on May 6 and 7. The other semi-final is between Barcelona and Inter Milan
Real’s frustration
Defending Champions League champions Real Madrid have failed to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League after four consecutive appearances (including two titles). The last time the Spanish side failed to finish in the top four was in the 2019/20 edition, when they were knocked out by Manchester City in the round of 16 (4-2 on aggregate).
Dream of an unprecedented title
Four games against Real Madrid in history, with three wins and one draw. Arsenal returns to the Champions League semi-finals after 16 years. The last time was in the 2008/09 season. The English team has never won the tournament . Their best campaign was the runner-up in 2005/06. Who knows, maybe the title will come now?

He helped a lot in marking, participated in several attacking plays, kept up the intense pace until the end and even scored a goal in injury time. Declan Rice was elected man of the match by UEFA, but the Brazilian striker deserves a mention.
