Vitinha confident after defeat: “I’m sure we’ll get through”
The Portuguese international lamented the defeat at the Parc des Princes, but said that PSG will win in Liverpool and qualify for the next stage of the UEFA Champions League

PSG completely dominated Liverpool , but ended up losing in Paris (0-1), largely due to a great performance by Alisson . At the end of the match, Vitinha lamented this defeat, counting for the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 , and even stated that the team will win at Anfield and go through to the quarter-finals.
“It’s difficult, everyone has seen it. Football is like that. It’s tough. They scored with their only shot. It’s tough. We haven’t lost in a long time. We have to show our strength. We’re going to play a great game there and I’m sure we’ll get through. I’m still optimistic. We deserved to win. We had a lot of chances and we’re going to play a great game and win in Liverpool ,” he said in a quick interview with Canal+, handing over to Kvaratskhelia , who had a goal disallowed.
“We had a lot of chances to score. We showed them that we were the better team tonight. We would have deserved a win or a draw, but that’s football. We will prepare for the second leg, which will be difficult at Anfield. We will have to play the same game and score goals. A goal disallowed? I was very sad that it was disallowed, but I have to keep working and the results will come for the team and for me,” he said, handing over to his coach, Luis Enrique, who was also frustrated.
“It’s very unfair. It was probably our most complete game in the competition. Their best player was the goalkeeper. I’m very proud of my team, but football is sometimes unfair. Let’s think about the second leg. We were much better than Liverpool, but they won. I don’t see anything negative, there’s still one game left. Am I optimistic? Of course I am,” he said.
