Croatia beats France in the champions league
Croatia wins 2-0 in Split and has a good advantage in the Nations League quarter-final clash

It got difficult, Mbappé!
Croatia beat France 2-0 on Thursday in the first leg of their 2024/25 Nations League quarter-finals . Striker Kramaric missed a penalty less than 10 minutes into the match. But striker Budimir opened the scoring in the 26th minute, assisted by Perisic, who scored the other goal in first-half stoppage time. Croatia could lose by a single goal in the return leg on Sunday, but would still qualify for the Nations League semi-finals.
The highlight of the match
Striker Perisic was the star of Croatia’s victory. Playing on the left flank, he provided a great assist for the first goal, scored by Budimir, and then scored his own with a beautiful cross-shot. Perisic now has 34 goals and 27 assists in 141 official matches for the Croatian national team.
Tried but didn’t work
Mbappe returned to the France squad today after missing the team’s Nations League matches from round three to round six in October and November last year. The Real Madrid forward put in the work, created chances for his teammates and also had a shot, but was unable to find the net.
