El Mundo reported on Monday that the Spanish Federation (RFEF) manipulated the scores of the venues to leave Vigo out and include Anoeta. According to the same source, in a first report, different notes appeared from those that ended up being published. In the first, Balaídos, home of Celta , appeared in 11th position, with 10,2004 points. Real Sociedad ‘s Anoeta were in 12th place with 10,1226. According to the same source, 48 hours later, the RFEF put Anoeta ahead, with a different score: 10.6026 points.

In July 2024, Javier Pardo, mayor of Vigo, sent a letter to the RFEF demanding “transparency” throughout the process.

Rafael Louzán, president of the RFEF, said that not publishing the data was a “technical decision”.
