Bayern Munich chooses Neuer’s successor… and has Barcelona as its rival

With Manuel Neuer , 39, approaching the end of his career, Bayern Munich are already starting to think about succeeding the German international who has been the goalkeeper for the last 14 years.

According to The Telegraph, the Bavarians’ first choice is Dutchman Bart Verbruggen , a 22-year-old goalkeeper who swapped Anderlecht for Brighton two seasons ago , establishing himself as one of the key figures at the club that currently occupies 7th place in the Premier League .

Verbruggen is also already a regular starter in goal for the Netherlands national team , which reached the semi-finals of the European Championship last summer, and who has been rumored to be closely followed by Barcelona to replace another German goalkeeper: Ter Stegen .

It should be noted that in addition to Neuer, Bayern Munich, coached by Vincent Kompany, has Sven Ulreich (36 years old), Daniel Peretz (24) and Jonas Urbig (21) in the squad, all of whom have already played this season, in the absence of the starting goalkeeper.
