Swaps Saudi Arabia for France and goes against Ronaldo
The centre-back left Al Ittihad for Marseille and comments on CR7’s recent words: «It’s his opinion.»
Brazilian centre-back Luiz Felipe Ramos, who also has Italian nationality, went the opposite direction to many players and, a season and a half later, left Al Ittihad, where he was with Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kanté, to play for Marseille. This season he had only played one game for the Saudi team – after a long lay-off due to injury – and, at the presentation, he was asked to comment on recent words from Cristiano Ronaldo, who said that the French league was weak compared to the Saudi one.
“Easy. I’m not saying that because I play in Saudi Arabia. I don’t care what people think. They should go to Saudi Arabia and see, run in 38, 39 or 40 degrees. In France there’s only PSG . The rest are finished. That’s my opinion,” said Ronaldo a few days ago at the Globe Soccer Awards.
“These days, all the leagues are tough, there are no easy games anymore,” the 27-year-old defender began by saying. “I’ve already come here to play against Nice and Marseille [when he played for Lazio], and those games were always tough, with very physical players. It’s a very physical league,” he assured.
“I think that’s just Cristiano Ronaldo’s opinion, but it’s not mine,” added Luiz Felipe.
“I think we are seeing a developing league here, with a high level of very physical forwards. I say this as a defender, these are players who give everything and I will have to be prepared for the duels”, he added.
