Ruben Amorim confesses: “I feel like I’m failing…”

Life is not easy for Ruben Amorim in Manchester. After admitting that the current Red Devils team is the «worst in Manchester United ‘s history », the Portuguese coach has now tried to clarify that admission, suggesting that his comment was a reflection of how he felt in the immediate aftermath of the defeat against Brighton .

“For me, it’s always the same passion. I know Manchester United is the biggest club in the world, but I know that even when I started in the third division I had the same feeling. It’s not about the people, it’s about me; it’s the way I feel. It’s the way you feel that [means] I’m going to say some things that you [the media] can use. I feel like I’m failing my players, I’m failing Omar [Berrada, club director] and I’m failing Jason [Wilcox, club director], and it’s very difficult to deal with that feeling,” the Portuguese began by saying, in statements to TNT Sports.

“It’s more about me than it is about other people, because I’m very aware that tomorrow no one will remember me, so it’s not about me or what other people think of me – that’ll be over in two weeks. I’m just focused on my feelings and how I have to do my job. I need to feel like I’m not letting people down. It’s more about that than the pressure from outside. For me, believe it or not, it’s always the same because I don’t read anything,” he concluded.
