“Man. United are worse off with Amorim than with Ten Hag”
Former England international Alan Shearer was not impressed by the Portuguese manager’s words after the defeat to Brighton

After the defeat to Brighton (1-3), Ruben Amorim stated that this is the «worst team» in Manchester United ‘s history and some agree with the Portuguese coach’s words.
Alan Shearer, English football legend, even stated that the Red Devils are worse now than they were under Erik Ten Hag and blamed Amorim: «They are worse now than they were under Ten Hag, because this coach wants to play this system. The players simply cannot play the way he wants to play.»
“I understand why he’s saying that, it’s to buy time. It’s very unusual that you look at one of the biggest clubs in the world, if not the biggest, and the manager says: ‘This is the worst team in their history’ because of where they are and some of the performances. Last week and the week before we were praising the way they played against Arsenal and Liverpool . Then a week later he comes along and says they’re the worst in their history. It’s incredible,” the former player began by saying on the ‘Stick to Football’ podcast.
“It’s really hard to understand and he’s got a bit of a free pass until the end of the season because of how bad they’ve been, how bad the recruitment has been and how bad the management of the club has been since he bought it,” Shearer continued, calling for a shake-up of United ’s squad : “Someone has to come in and strip [the team] back to its core, that’s exactly what they need. It’s going to take time and anyone who came in would find this scenario. They need a massive recruitment drive now and in the summer, but it’s going to take a lot longer than that to turn the club around.”
