Champions League playoffs draw: see date and time
The clashes in the next phase of the competition will be decided this Friday at UEFA headquarters

The first “league phase” of the Champions League has come to an end . The draw, which will define the playoff matches, is scheduled for Friday. The event will be held at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
The playoff is a new feature in the 2024/25 competition and opens the knockout stage. The top eight teams will advance directly to the round of 16 of the competition. The teams from ninth to 24th place will play a playoff to determine the other eight teams in the next phase.
The next round matches will be played over two weeks. The first leg will be on 11 or 12 February, with the second leg on 18 or 19. Each club will play once on Tuesday and once on Wednesday. UEFA will confirm the fixture list, including match dates and kick-off times, on the day of the draw.
How will the draw work?
The teams finishing between ninth and 16th in the league stage will be seeded in the draw and will play the return leg at home. The draw is conducted by UEFA according to their league stage performance, with the teams divided into pairs in eight different pots: 9th and 10th, 11th and 12th, 13th and 14th, 15th and 16th, 17th and 18th, 19th and 20th, 21st and 22nd, 23rd and 24th.
The draw could see Manchester City vs Bayern Munich or Real Madrid, or Milan vs Juventus.
Thus, those who have scored the most points will face one of those who have scored the fewest points, in the following manner: the ninth and 10th place will necessarily face the 23rd or 24th; the 11th and 12th will duel against the 21st or 22nd, and so on.
