Last weekend, Fenerbahçe had just returned to winning ways after two consecutive defeats – to Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League and Besiktas in the league – but they dropped points again this Friday.

José Mourinho’s team drew 1-1 at Eyupspor, fourth in the Turkish league, and could see Galatasaray increasing their lead to eight points at the top, if they win at home to Kayserispor.

It was the home team who opened the scoring, in the 26th minute, in a beautiful collective play, all with the first touch, finished by Kutucu. Just before the break, En-Nesyri, who had scored twice in the last game, scored again, again on a pass from Kostic , making everything level at the break.

However, the refereeing team still turned to VAR to check whether there was an offside for the first goal and a foul for the second, but nothing was scored, despite the opponent’s protests, and the result remained unchanged until the final whistle.
