Arsenal are set to lose their sporting director. According to Sky Sports , Edu, who was recently in Brazil to deal with personal matters, has made the decision to leave the Gunners , where he also played as a footballer.
According to the same source, the Brazilian manager is being considered for a role in Evangelos Marinakis’ group of clubs, which includes Nottingham Forest , Olympiakos and Rio Ave. Evangelos Marinakis is looking for a fourth club to join the group. Sky Sports points out, however, that it is not clear whether this was the reason that led Edu to decide to leave the Londoners.
Arsenal were taken by surprise by the decision of Edu, who has a strong bond with Mikel Arteta and has been crucial to the club’s project.
