Arsenal and Manchester United have reportedly joined the race to sign Levante’s rising star Karl Etta Eyong, a player previously identified as a long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski at Barcelona.

According to transfer specialist Ben Jacobs, the 22-year-old Cameroonian striker has become one of the most monitored talents in Spain. While Barcelona has long held an interest in the forward to bolster their post-Lewandowski era, the financial muscle of the Premier League is now threatening to hijack the deal.

The Rise of a New Star

Eyong has been in sensational form in Spain, tallying nine direct goal involvements so far this season. His unique blend of physical power and technical clinical finishing has alerted recruitment departments across Europe.

While Levante is currently competing outside of La Liga’s top flight, Eyong’s performances have proven he is ready for a “Tier 1” challenge.

Why the Premier League Giants are Moving

  • Arsenal’s Vision: Mikel Arteta is looking for a versatile forward who can provide a different profile to Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.
  • Man Utd’s Search: Under the new sporting structure at Old Trafford, the club is prioritizing young, high-ceiling talents like Eyong to compete with Rasmus Højlund.

The Price Tag Dilemma

Levante is well aware of the growing interest and is expected to hold out for a significant fee. Although no official bids have been submitted, sources suggest the Spanish club will point to the player’s release clause to maximize profit during the summer window.

For Barcelona, the entry of Arsenal and Manchester United complicates matters significantly, as the Catalan giants continue to navigate strict financial fair play regulations.
