The January transfer window has taken an unexpected turn after Beşiktaş submitted a €5 million offer (around R$31.3 million) to sign Luís Henrique on loan from Inter Milan. The Turkish club is pushing hard to reinforce its attack and views the Brazilian winger as a key piece for the second half of the season.

The proposal involves a paid loan only, with no mandatory purchase clause, reflecting Beşiktaş’ intention to secure immediate attacking depth without long-term financial commitments.

Beşiktaş Target Luís Henrique to Boost Attack

Beşiktaş are enduring an inconsistent campaign and believe Luís Henrique’s pace, dribbling, and creativity on the wings could make an immediate impact. Club officials see the former Marseille attacker as a player capable of destabilizing defenses and providing much-needed width.

Initially, Inter Milan appeared open to negotiations, with internal discussions suggesting a deal could be finalized by mid-January. The loan fee was considered attractive, as it would help ease financial pressure following Inter’s recent spending and reduce the wage bill.

FIFA Regulations Force Contract Adjustment

One of the main obstacles emerged due to FIFA loan regulations. Beşiktaş originally proposed an 18-month loan, but international rules only allow a maximum loan period of 12 months, forcing both clubs back to the negotiating table to restructure the agreement.

This regulatory issue slowed talks and delayed any immediate breakthrough.

Player Open to Move as Playing Time Beckons

Luís Henrique is closely monitoring the situation. The Brazilian forward is keen on securing regular playing time, something Beşiktaş could offer immediately. Despite an inconsistent spell at Inter, the player believes a move to Istanbul would allow him to rediscover confidence and rhythm, fueled by the intense atmosphere of Turkish football.

Inter Milan Halt Talks Due to Squad Concerns

Negotiations have now temporarily stalled after Inter Milan failed to secure a suitable replacement. Following internal meetings, the coaching staff decided to block the winger’s departure, citing a lack of reliable options to cover the right flank.

Attempts to sign a replacement during December and early January were unsuccessful, prompting Inter to adopt a more cautious stance.

Talks Could Resume Later in January

While discussions are currently on hold, Beşiktaş remain optimistic. The Turkish side expects new talks later in January, possibly next week. Inter Milan, however, have made their position clear: negotiations will only resume if a replacement player is secured before the European transfer window closes.
