Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique has publicly expressed his anger after reports claimed he had rejected a new contract offer from the club. Speaking in comments shared by Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish manager dismissed the rumors as false and accused outside sources of attempting to destabilize PSG.

“These are rumors that always circulate around PSG. There’s a lot of fake news. They’re trying to destabilize the players and the team, but none of that will happen,” said Luis Enrique.
“It’s normal for people to talk, but these matters remain private,” he added.

The speculation quickly spread across European football, fueling talk of a possible exit from Paris. Luis Enrique was even linked as a potential candidate to replace Rúben Amorim at Manchester United, but sources close to the club indicate that he has no intention of leaving PSG in the near future.

Luis Enrique’s contract situation at PSG

Luis Enrique took charge of Paris Saint-Germain in July 2023, signing a five-year contract that runs until June 2027. If he completes the deal without an extension, his tenure would officially end at that point.

Since arriving in Paris, the former Barcelona and Spain coach has built an impressive résumé. In just under three seasons, he has already won 10 trophies, sweeping domestic competitions and guiding PSG to historic Champions League and Club World Cup titles.

According to Transfermarkt, Luis Enrique has managed PSG in 145 matches, recording 103 wins, 23 draws and 19 defeats, which translates to an outstanding 73.2% win rate.

On the pitch, PSG remain competitive across all competitions. The club currently sits second in Ligue 1 with 39 points, just one behind leaders Lens. In the Champions League, PSG are in third place with 13 points, firmly on track to qualify for the knockout stages.

The Parisians’ next challenge is a French Cup derby against Paris FC, valid for the round of 32. The match will be played this Monday (12) at the Parc des Princes, with kickoff scheduled for 8:10 pm (UK time).
