Manchester City may face unexpected departures during the January transfer window, with Omar Marmoush emerging as a potential exit amid growing interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Premier League champions have already been active in the market, completing the signing of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth for £65 million (around R$471 million). However, incoming reinforcements could open the door for squad changes at the Etihad Stadium.
New Signings Could Trigger Departures at City
With Semenyo’s arrival, competition in Manchester City’s attacking line has intensified. As a result, some players may see their minutes reduced.
Brazilian winger Savinho has once again been linked with a move away from City and is reportedly on Tottenham manager Thomas Frank’s radar. However, Spurs’ interest does not stop there.
According to CaughtOffside, Tottenham are also closely monitoring Omar Marmoush, who has struggled for regular playing time this season.
Tottenham and Aston Villa Tracking Marmoush
The report states that Tottenham view Marmoush as a player capable of making an immediate impact in the second half of the season and are open to pushing for a deal as early as January.
At 26 years old, the Egyptian forward has featured for just 206 minutes in the Premier League, a situation that has fueled speculation over his future. Despite the interest, Pep Guardiola is reportedly reluctant to approve the player’s departure, believing Marmoush could still play an important role in attacking rotation.
Adding further complexity to the situation, Aston Villa are also said to be interested in the striker, potentially sparking a transfer battle.
Marmoush’s Contract and Season Numbers
Omar Marmoush is under contract with Manchester City until June 2029 and is currently valued at €65 million (R$471 million), according to Transfermarkt.
So far this season, combining appearances for Manchester City and the Egyptian national team, Marmoush has played 21 matches, contributing to five goals scoring four goals and providing one assist.
