Lewandowski rejects €100 million Saudi offer and opts to stay at Barcelona

Robert Lewandowski turned down a staggering €100 million per season offer from Al-Hilal, opting instead to remain at Barcelona and compete for major European titles. The revelation was made by his agent Pini Zahavi, who confirmed the striker rejected the proposal last year and has postponed further talks with Saudi clubs.
€100 Million Per Season Rejected
According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Lewandowski was approached by Saudi football in 2023 with a record-breaking salary offer. Zahavi confirmed the bid:
“A year ago, he received an offer from Saudi Arabia offering him €100 million per season. And he didn’t want to go. He wanted to fight for important titles,” Zahavi revealed.
The agent added that Lewandowski remained determined to win La Liga and the Champions League with Barcelona, nearly achieving both in the 2023/24 campaign.
Future Could Lead to Saudi Arabia
Although Lewandowski is staying at Camp Nou for now, the 37-year-old striker is entering the final year of his contract. This opens the door for fresh negotiations in 2026, when he will be free to discuss terms with potential suitors.
Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), which has already lured stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, and Karim Benzema, reportedly wants Lewandowski as a marquee addition for Al-Hilal or Al-Nassr.
Lewandowski’s Barcelona Numbers
Despite his age, Lewandowski continues to produce elite performances. According to OGol, the Polish forward has scored:
- 33 goals in his first season,
- 26 goals in his second,
- 42 goals in his third,
for a total of 147 appearances across three seasons at Barcelona.
