Bayern edge Augsburg 3-2 in thriller to secure second straight Bundesliga win

Bayern Munich survived a late Augsburg comeback to win 3-2 at the WWK Arena on Saturday (30), sealing their second consecutive Bundesliga victory. Goals from Serge Gnabry, Luís Díaz and Michael Olise, plus two assists from Harry Kane, gave the champions all three points, though Augsburg fought until the final whistle.

Bayern strike early and often

Vincent Kompany’s side dominated the first half, breaking through in the 27th minute when Serge Gnabry finished a precise move from the right. Moments before halftime, Luís Díaz doubled the lead, making up for an early miss.

Right after the restart, Michael Olise scored in the 48th minute, once again set up by Kane, giving Bayern what looked like an unassailable 3-0 lead.

Augsburg fight back

The hosts refused to collapse. Kristijan Jakić pulled one back in the 52nd minute, lifting the home crowd and inspiring a late surge. In the 75th, Kömer struck to make it 2-3, assisted by Jakić, setting up a tense finale.

Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer made key saves to preserve the lead, while Augsburg continued pressing until stoppage time.

High drama and worrying injury

Controversy flared when referee decisions angered Augsburg fans, especially allowing a Bayern substitution during an attack. But the atmosphere shifted to shock in the dying minutes after a violent clash of heads between Boey (Bayern) and Fellhauer (Augsburg).

Fellhauer required on-field medical treatment, was immobilized under concussion protocol, and left on a stretcher to a standing ovation from both sets of fans.
