Liverpool intensifies pursuit of Isak and Guehi and could surpass €220 million in transfer window

Reds already lead global spending but remain determined to reinforce Arne Slot’s squad with two big names
Liverpool still aggressive in the market
Liverpool, already the club that has invested the most in the current European summer transfer window, is preparing another financial push to secure Alexander Isak (Newcastle) and Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace). According to the Mirror, the Reds are willing to allocate up to €220 million (over R$3 billion) to bring both players to Anfield before the window closes on Monday (1st).
Isak: Newcastle’s high demands
Isak has expressed his desire to join Liverpool and is reportedly on strike at Newcastle. However, the Magpies remain firm, insisting on the striker’s release clause of €173.9 million. The possibility of a deal could depend on Newcastle finalizing a replacement — the club has been negotiating with Wolves for Larsen, although a €63.7 million bid was recently rejected.
Guehi: competition with Barcelona and Real Madrid
Liverpool’s chances look brighter with Marc Guehi. The 25-year-old defender has attracted attention from Barcelona and Real Madrid, but Crystal Palace would consider selling him for around €46.3 million. With his contract nearing its end, Palace risks losing him on a free transfer, making a summer sale the likeliest outcome.
Biggest spenders in the world
So far, Liverpool have spent €339.3 million on reinforcements, outspending Arsenal by more than €40 million.
Their most expensive signing has been Florian Wirtz, acquired from Bayer Leverkusen for €125 million, followed by Ekitike (€95M) and Milos Kerkez (€46.9M).
Classic against Arsenal next
Unbeaten at the start of the Premier League, Liverpool face a major challenge on Sunday (31) against Arsenal at Anfield, in a rematch of last season’s title race.
Coach Arne Slot will be without Jeremie Frimpong, injured in the first round, while Arsenal’s Kai Havertz is sidelined long-term after a serious injury.
