Barcelona begins negotiations with Mallorca over Héctor Fort and two La Masia talents

Barcelona are negotiating the departure of Héctor Fort to Mallorca, with two additional La Masia players potentially included in the deal. The 19-year-old right-back has been told he must leave to gain playing time after being excluded from Hansi Flick’s plans.
Meeting Held Between Clubs
According to journalist Gerard Romero, Barça and Mallorca met on Tuesday (26) to discuss the transfer. While details of the talks remain undisclosed, progress is believed to have been made. Jan Virgili and Dani Rodríguez, both from Barça Atlètic, could also be part of the agreement.
With the transfer window closing in early September, negotiations are moving quickly. Fort, after internal discussions, has accepted that leaving Barcelona is the best step for his career.
Fort Falls Down the Pecking Order
Despite a full preseason with the first team, Hansi Flick has made it clear Fort is not in his plans. The youngster was left out of the squad registration for La Liga and missed Barça’s opening two matches.
Competition for the position is fierce, with Jules Koundé, Eric García, Gerard Martín, and Jofre Torrens all ahead of him in the coach’s hierarchy. That leaves Fort as the last option for the right-back role.
Market Interest Beyond Mallorca
Fort has been attracting attention across Europe. Aston Villa had shown interest and even prepared a proposal but never formalized it. Girona and Paris FC also monitored the situation, but Mallorca have now emerged as the frontrunners to secure his signature.
