Rodrigo Mora rejects Real Madrid and reaches an agreement with Al-Ittihad

One of Portugal’s brightest young strikers, Rodrigo Mora, is leaving Porto and has reached a verbal agreement with Al-Ittihad, despite strong interest from Real Madrid and PSG. The Saudi club now negotiates directly with Porto for a deal expected to reach €70 million.

From Real Madrid’s radar to Saudi Arabia

At just 18 years old, Rodrigo Mora was seen in Spain as the natural successor to Rodrygo at Real Madrid. The Merengues monitored him closely after his standout performances at the Club World Cup, where he scored in all three of Porto’s matches. PSG was also among the clubs keeping an eye on the striker.

However, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, Al-Ittihad moved quickly and secured an agreement with the player. Now, only the final details with Porto separate the teenager from a blockbuster move to the Saudi Pro League.

Mora’s numbers at Porto

Rodrigo Mora made the leap to Porto’s first team last season and impressed with 11 goals and 4 assists in 35 games. His early rise earned him the label of “one of Portugal’s top prospects.”

This season, though, his playing time decreased significantly—just 12 minutes on the pitch so far—fueling speculation that a transfer was imminent.

A future alongside Benzema and Kanté

If confirmed, Mora will join an Al-Ittihad squad already featuring Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté, and Fabinho. The Saudis see the teenager as a long-term investment and a new face for the attack.

Real Madrid still uncertain about Rodrygo

For Real Madrid, the deal is a major blow. The Spanish giants had earmarked Mora as an ideal replacement for Rodrygo, whose future at the Bernabéu remains unclear amid interest from Liverpool and Manchester City.

With the transfer window closing soon, Los Blancos may need to accelerate their search for alternatives.
