Real Madrid seeks Dani Ceballos replacement amid interest from Marseille and Al-Ittihad

Real Madrid is already preparing for the possible departure of Dani Ceballos, as both Olympique de Marseille and Saudi club Al-Ittihad intensify their pursuit of the Spanish midfielder.

Madrid Moves Quickly in the Market

According to ESPN Spain’s Rodra, the board does not want to be caught off guard and has started evaluating options in case Ceballos leaves. The concern is heightened by the recent exits of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, which have already reshaped the midfield. Losing another creative option in the same transfer window would force Real to act swiftly.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Marseille’s strong interest, while Al-Ittihad is also negotiating with the player’s representatives, making Ceballos one of the most sought-after names of the late summer window.

Possible Successor: Thiago Pitarch

One of the solutions under consideration is 18-year-old midfielder Thiago Pitarch, a youth prospect who has impressed coach Xabi Alonso in training. Pitarch has been on the bench for Real Madrid’s last two La Liga fixtures, and while he may still need to wait for opportunities, the club views him as a long-term option.

Still, Defensa Central notes that the board is aware of the difficulty in finding a midfielder with Ceballos’ same attacking profile and game intelligence.

Ceballos’ Contract and Career Path

Ceballos has been with Real Madrid since 2017, with two loan spells at Arsenal in 2019/20 and 2020/21. A product of Real Betis’ academy, he has become a versatile squad option under several managers at the Bernabéu.

Last season, he featured in 45 matches, starting 22, and registered two assists. His current contract runs until June 30, 2027, but with Marseille and Al-Ittihad pressing, his future may be decided in the coming days.
