Manchester United lose lead in draw against Fulham and remain winless in the Premier League

Manchester United’s poor Premier League start continued on Saturday as they squandered a second-half lead in a 1-1 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
United take the lead, but can’t hold it
After a first half of missed chances including a Bruno Fernandes penalty skied over the bar United finally broke through in the 58th minute. Defender Leny Yoro rose highest to meet Bryan Mbeumo’s cross, his header taking a deflection off Muniz that left Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno wrong-footed.
The goal seemed set to secure Rúben Amorim’s first league victory in charge of United. But Fulham manager Marco Silva’s substitutions changed the game. Just moments after coming on, Emile Smith Rowe equalized in the 73rd minute, finishing coolly after a smart setup by Alex Iwobi.
Missed chances haunt United again
It was another frustrating afternoon for Matheus Cunha, who struck the post and was denied by Leno in key moments. United dominated possession and created the better opportunities, yet once again failed to put the game to bed.
At the other end, United’s defense looked shaky under pressure. Goalkeeper Altay Bayindir endured a nervy display, with Fulham threatening regularly from crosses and set pieces.
Poor start continues
The result leaves Manchester United winless after two Premier League matches, having lost to Arsenal in their opener and now dropping points against Fulham. Despite heavy summer spending, Amorim’s side has yet to click, with key signings still searching for form.
For Fulham, the draw felt like a victory, as Silva’s men showed resilience to fight back against one of England’s biggest clubs.
