Gyökeres scores twice as Arsenal thrashes Leeds 5-0 to go top of the Premier League

Arsenal delivered a statement victory at the Emirates, thrashing Leeds United 5-0 and moving to the top of the Premier League table. Viktor Gyökeres scored his first official goals for the club, while Jurrien Timber also struck twice.
Arsenal in commanding form
The Gunners dominated from the start, breaking the deadlock in the 34th minute when Jurrien Timber scored from a set piece. Just before halftime, he provided an assist for Bukayo Saka, who curled in a superb strike to make it 2-0.
In the second half, new signing Gyökeres took center stage. The Swedish forward showed strength and composure to score from Calafiori’s assist early on, extending the lead to 3-0. Timber then grabbed his second of the match with another powerful header in the 64th minute.
Late in the game, Gyökeres calmly converted a penalty to seal the emphatic 5-0 win.
Arsenal climb to the top
The result sends Arsenal to first place in the Premier League, underlining their early-season title ambitions. Leeds, meanwhile, struggled defensively and remain near the bottom of the table.
