Fábio Silva reaches an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for 25 million euros

Borussia Dortmund is set to finalize the signing of Portuguese forward Fábio Silva from Wolverhampton, with a long-term contract until 2030 already agreed.
Deal Nearing Completion
According to Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Dortmund has reached an agreement with the 23-year-old striker after weeks of negotiations. Wolverhampton demanded €25 million for the transfer, and the Bundesliga club has shown readiness to meet the valuation.
The move places Dortmund ahead of other European contenders and could be made official in the coming days.
Leipzig and Roma Miss Out
RB Leipzig and AS Roma had both pursued Silva aggressively, but Dortmund ultimately won the race after Wolverhampton rejected multiple offers from rival clubs.
The signing strengthens Edin Terzić’s attacking options, providing much-needed depth following recent squad departures.
From Porto to the Bundesliga
A graduate of FC Porto’s academy, Silva joined Wolves in 2020 in a record deal that made him one of the most expensive Portuguese transfers at the time. However, he struggled to establish himself in the Premier League and was loaned out to PSV and Rangers, gaining valuable experience abroad.
Now, Silva views Dortmund as the ideal environment to relaunch his career, joining a club renowned for developing young talents and propelling them onto the European stage.
Long-Term Investment
If finalized, the striker will sign a deal running until 2030, underlining the club’s belief in his potential. For Dortmund, Silva’s versatility and attacking instincts are seen as key assets as the team looks to challenge Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen for the Bundesliga title in the 2025/26 season.
