Florian Wirtz is already making headlines at Liverpool just weeks after arriving from Bayer Leverkusen. At 22, the German midfielder is not only one of the Reds’ most expensive signings ever but also among the top earners in the current squad.

Wirtz’s Salary Package

Signed for €136 million (R$873 million), Wirtz will receive a base salary of €12 million per year (R$77 million), which equals roughly R$6.5 million per month. However, according to Sky Sports, his contract includes performance-based bonuses that could push his total annual earnings up by another €6 million (R$39 million), taking him close to R$10 million monthly at peak.

Third Highest-Paid at Anfield

The midfielder immediately enters Liverpool’s salary elite. He ranks third, behind Virgil van Dijk (€19m per year / R$121m) and Mohamed Salah (€17m per year / R$108m). Wirtz replaces Luis Díaz, who departed for Bayern Munich with a reported salary of €14m annually.

A Key Piece in Arne Slot’s New Project

Liverpool coach Arne Slot personally approved Wirtz’s arrival, seeing him as central to the team’s rebuild and their push for another Premier League title. The youngster’s creativity and vision are expected to bring fresh dynamism to the Reds’ midfield.

High Expectations From the Fans

With his record fee, hefty wages, and status as one of Europe’s brightest talents, Wirtz arrives at Anfield under great expectations. Supporters hope he will quickly adapt to English football and become a driving force in Liverpool’s pursuit of trophies this season.
