Who is the most undervalued player in the world? Vinicius Junior is second and Ødegaard is third

Manchester City star Phil Foden has suffered the largest market value drop in world football this year, according to Transfermarkt data. The England midfielder’s valuation fell from €140 million (R$881 million) in January to €100 million (R$629 million) a decline of €40 million.

Vinícius Júnior Slips to Second

Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior, once valued at €200 million (R$1.261 billion) during his peak in 2024, saw his market value fall to €170 million (R$1.071 billion). The Brazilian, who had been a Ballon d’Or favorite last season, struggled to maintain his exceptional form after losing the award to Rodri. While still among the 30 nominees for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, he is no longer considered a frontrunner.

Ødegaard in Third

Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard rounds out the top three biggest devaluations. His value dropped from €110 million (R$693 million) to €85 million (R$585 million), despite remaining a key player for the Gunners.

Injuries and Form Affect Valuations

Current Ballon d’Or holder Rodri also experienced a sharp decline, ranking eighth on the list. The Manchester City midfielder fell from €130 million (R$819 million) to €110 million (R$692 million) after a serious injury kept him sidelined for months.

These changes reflect how quickly form, injuries, and market trends can reshape perceptions of football’s biggest stars even those considered elite performers.
