Grêmio ends pursuit of Róger Guedes and targets Anderson Talisca, currently at Fenerbahçe

Brazilian forward could make high-profile return to national football

Grêmio has officially abandoned negotiations for striker Róger Guedes after weeks of talks with Qatari side Al-Rayyan. Despite the player showing interest in joining the club, the Middle Eastern team refused to release him even after the Porto Alegre side reportedly tabled a €20 million (R$126.3 million) offer.

Club director Marcelo Marques confirmed the withdrawal, citing the difficulty of reaching an agreement.

New Target: Anderson Talisca

With Guedes off the table, Grêmio has shifted focus to Anderson Talisca, the 31-year-old forward who made his name at Bahia and later starred for Al Nassr. Now at Fenerbahçe, Talisca has received full backing from both Marcelo and the club’s football department, according to journalist Fábio Vargas.

Negotiations, however, will be far from straightforward. Talisca has previously stated that, in Brazil, his preference would be to play for Bahia or Corinthians.

Contract and Market Value

The forward is under contract with Fenerbahçe until June 2026, meaning Grêmio would need to negotiate a transfer fee. His current market value is €10 million (R$63.1 million).

Strong Form in Turkey

Just on August 12, Talisca scored in Fenerbahçe’s 5–2 win over Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League qualifying phase. He now has 13 goals and two assists in 24 appearances for the Turkish club, directly contributing to 15 goals despite not being a regular starter.
