Senegalese striker set to leave Stamford Bridge with £40M price tag

Nicolas Jackson is ready to swap Chelsea for Newcastle United this summer, with the 24-year-old striker reportedly prioritising a move to St James’ Park. Out of new manager Enzo Maresca’s plans following the arrival of João Pedro, Jackson has decided his future lies away from Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have placed the Senegal international on the transfer list, valuing him at £40 million (€46.8M / R$292M). Newcastle see him as a potential replacement for Alexander Isak, who is pushing for a transfer to Liverpool under Arne Slot.

Manchester United Interest Fades

Earlier in the window, Manchester United explored a deal for Jackson and even received approval from Chelsea. However, talks collapsed over financial demands, and United switched focus to RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško.

Newcastle’s Financial Stance

While Newcastle are keen on Jackson, the club’s hierarchy considers Chelsea’s asking price steep. Negotiations are expected, with the Magpies aiming to lower the fee for a player who has yet to fully convince across the Premier League.

Jackson’s Chelsea Record

Under contract with Chelsea until June 2033, Jackson made 37 appearances last season, scoring 13 goals and providing 6 assists contributing to 19 goal involvements in total.

A move to Newcastle could offer Jackson a fresh start and a leading role in the Magpies’ attacking plans for the upcoming European campaign.
