PSG’s Donnarumma wants high salary to play for Manchester United

Manchester United’s hunt for a new world-class goalkeeper has brought them within touching distance of a huge signing: Gianluigi Donnarumma. According to transfer market sources, PSG has given the green light for the Italian star to leave this summer, and negotiations are well underway.
PSG Opens the Door for Donnarumma’s Exit
Donnarumma’s contract with PSG runs until June 2026, but the French giants have decided to act early to avoid losing him for free a mistake they made with Kylian Mbappé’s move to Real Madrid. PSG has already lined up Lucas Chevalier as a replacement and is willing to accept offers starting at £26 million (R$190 million).
Sources close to the player reveal that the goalkeeper is keen on a Premier League move, with Manchester United emerging as his preferred destination. When asked about the rumors, United manager Rúben Amorim smirked and declined to comment fueling speculation among fans.
The Salary Roadblock
While the transfer fee seems manageable, the salary package has become the main sticking point. Manchester United is ready to offer £250,000 per week, but Donnarumma currently earns around R$6.6 million per month at PSG and is demanding an even higher figure to make the move to Old Trafford.
For comparison, United’s highest-paid player, Casemiro, pockets £375,000 per week roughly R$9.4 million per month. Meeting Donnarumma’s demands could break the club’s wage structure.
Why United Wants Donnarumma
The Italian goalkeeper, a Champions League winner with PSG, is renowned for his shot-stopping reflexes, aerial dominance, and big-game temperament. For United, his arrival would not only solidify their defense but also send a strong message of ambition to rivals in both the Premier League and Europe.
