Hansi Flick could see Barcelona defender Iñigo Martínez sign for Al-Nassr

Barcelona defender Iñigo Martínez is on the verge of joining Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, with negotiations reportedly at an advanced stage to terminate his current contract. According to journalists Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto, the 34-year-old has already agreed personal terms and is expected to sign a deal running until June 2026, with an option to extend to 2027.
The move would see Martínez depart the Catalan club after just two seasons, despite having been considered for a leadership role within the squad. His current market value is estimated at €5 million (around R$31 million), according to transfer specialist website Transfermarkt.
Last season, under Hansi Flick, Martínez made 46 appearances for Barcelona, contributing three goals and five assists. His consistent performances had placed him among the potential candidates for the club captaincy, especially following internal disputes involving current captain Marc-André ter Stegen.
Before joining Barça, Martínez spent six years at Athletic Bilbao and began his professional career at Real Sociedad, debuting in the 2011/12 season. His arrival at Al-Nassr would bolster the Saudi Pro League side’s defense as they continue attracting high-profile European talent.
