Rúben Amorim close to securing Benjamin Šeško as Manchester United’s new signing until 2030

Slovenian striker agrees personal terms as United outpace rivals with €85 million package
Manchester United are on the verge of finalizing a major signing as Benjamin Šeško, the 22-year-old Slovenian striker from RB Leipzig, edges closer to becoming the club’s new number nine. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Šeško has reached a personal agreement with United and is expected to sign a deal running until June 2030.
Final Details Being Settled Between Clubs
While the player’s side of the deal is already agreed, Manchester United and RB Leipzig are still ironing out final terms. Šeško, currently under contract until 2029 with the Bundesliga club, has a market value of €70 million, but United have reportedly offered €75 million plus €10 million in performance-related bonuses a total package worth €85 million.
Despite interest from clubs like Newcastle United, Šeško has expressed a clear preference for Manchester United, informing his current club and entourage that Old Trafford is his desired destination.
Amorim’s First Major Signing?
The potential signing could mark the first marquee reinforcement under Rúben Amorim, should his managerial move to United be confirmed. Amorim is widely expected to take over from Erik ten Hag, and securing Šeško would be a strong statement as United look to rebuild their squad.
The move also comes as Newcastle consider selling Alexander Isak, opening the door for a bidding war that United appear to have won.
A Rising Star in European Football
Šeško had an impressive 2024/25 season with RB Leipzig, netting 21 goals in 45 appearances and adding six assists across all competitions. After rising through the ranks at Red Bull Salzburg and Liefering in Austria, the Slovenian forward has cemented his place among Europe’s top young attacking talents.
