Barcelona changes transfer strategy after signing Rashford, Bardghij and García

After securing the high-profile signings of Marcus Rashford, Roony Bardghij, and Joan García, Barcelona has put the brakes on further transfer activity to prioritize the registration of its new arrivals, per reports from Mundo Deportivo.

Club Halts Signings to Meet LaLiga’s 1:1 Financial Rule

Head coach Hansi Flick, in agreement with sporting director Deco, is now focusing on aligning with LaLiga’s financial regulations, particularly the 1:1 spending rule, which mandates that clubs can only spend amounts equivalent to what they earn.

To comply, Barcelona may need to offload players before registering their new signings, delaying any further market moves including their interest in Julián Álvarez.

Youth Players Likely to Depart

Three youth products Héctor Fort, Marc Bernal, and Marc Casadó are on the potential outgoing list. While Fort, who is behind Jules Koundé, Eric García, and Gerard Martín in the pecking order, has reportedly refused a transfer, Bernal is close to joining Roma in search of more minutes.

Meanwhile, Marc Casadó has drawn concrete interest from Atlético Madrid, with Diego Simeone identifying him as a midfield target.

Álvarez on the Radar — But Not Just Yet

Once Barcelona meets LaLiga compliance and secures the registration of Rashford, Bardghij, and García, the club is expected to revisit its interest in Julián Álvarez.

Flick is reportedly keen on the Manchester City striker, whose playing profile fits well into the coach’s tactical vision. While the club can afford his salary, the challenge remains the transfer fee, which is seen as excessive by the Blaugrana hierarchy.
