Al-Nassr targets Getafe’s Omar Alderete after Antony pursuit stalls

Saudi club steps up European market push in bid to rebuild defense following Laporte’s departure

Al-Nassr is making another ambitious move in the European transfer market, this time by submitting a formal offer to sign Paraguayan centre-back Omar Alderete from Getafe, according to reports from journalist Matteo Moretto.

The Saudi Pro League side, which recently acquired João Félix, has also been in negotiations to sign Antony from Manchester United. But with talks proving difficult, the club has shifted focus to strengthen its backline.

Alderete Considered Laporte’s Successor

Omar Alderete, 27, is now being seen by Al-Nassr as a direct replacement for Aymeric Laporte, who left the Saudi outfit in June. The Paraguayan international has impressed with consistent performances at Getafe and is regarded as a physically strong, tactically disciplined defender.

Sources close to the club suggest Al-Nassr is optimistic about securing a deal. The financial terms have not been disclosed, but the offer has already been submitted to the Spanish club.

Getafe Reluctant but May Be Forced to Sell

While Getafe is reportedly reluctant to part ways with Alderete who plays a key role in their defensive lineup the club’s ongoing financial constraints could force them to consider the Saudi bid seriously.

Getafe sees the player as crucial to their La Liga campaign, but an attractive offer from Al-Nassr could tip the balance in favor of a sale.

Al-Nassr’s Transfer Ambitions Continue

Al-Nassr has made its intentions clear this summer: revamp the squad with top European talent. After already securing João Félix and actively negotiating with Premier League clubs, the Saudi side is aiming to solidify both its attacking and defensive units.

With Alderete now at the center of the club’s defensive plans, a deal could materialize quickly if Getafe is willing to negotiate.
