Barcelona Reject Valencia Loan Bid for Pau Víctor, Set €10M Price Tag for Sale

FC Barcelona have rejected a loan offer from Valencia for striker Pau Víctor, opting instead to pursue a permanent sale of the 23-year-old forward, according to Sport.
The decision comes in the wake of Marcus Rashford’s arrival from Manchester United, a move that has significantly reshaped Barcelona’s attacking depth and effectively pushed Víctor further down the pecking order. The club has set a transfer fee of €10 million for his full transfer.
Víctor endured a challenging campaign under head coach Hansi Flick, making just 379 minutes of first-team appearances and scoring only two goals. With stiff competition for attacking roles led by Robert Lewandowski and a resurgent Ferran Torres his future at the Camp Nou appears limited.
While Rashford is expected to operate primarily on the wings, his ability to also play through the middle or as an attacking midfielder reduces the tactical opportunities for Víctor even further. Internally, the player has accepted that a move away from Barcelona is likely his best chance for regular playing time.
Valencia expressed strong interest in securing Víctor on a season-long loan, but Barcelona declined, favoring a permanent exit to help balance the squad and raise funds after recent acquisitions.
In addition to Valencia, at least five other La Liga clubs are reportedly monitoring the situation, with Barcelona having already communicated their conditions for the sale. Pau Víctor is currently weighing his options as interested clubs prepare formal approaches.
The transfer decision highlights Barcelona’s commitment to a leaner, more competitive attacking unit heading into the 2025/26 season, especially after reinforcing the squad with high-profile names in the summer window.
