Donnarumma Offered to Real Madrid Again as PSG Contract Nears Final Year

Real Madrid remains firm with Courtois and Lunin, but the Italian goalkeeper may still be a free agent option in 2026.
Gianluigi Donnarumma has once again been offered to Real Madrid amid uncertainty over his future at Paris Saint-Germain. The Italian international, widely regarded as one of the top goalkeepers in Europe, has a contract with the French champions that runs until June 2026 but no renewal agreement has been reached so far.
According to reports from Spanish outlets Defensa Central and Fichajes, intermediaries have approached Real Madrid to propose a deal for Donnarumma. However, club president Florentino Pérez is said to have rejected the opportunity, reaffirming the club’s full confidence in Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin as the goalkeeping duo.
Real Madrid Not Considering Move—For Now
While no deal is currently on the table, Donnarumma could emerge as a viable target if he becomes available on a free transfer when his contract expires. Madrid are expected to begin succession planning for Courtois who turns 33 next year but are not actively pursuing a replacement at this stage.
The 25-year-old has also been linked with other top Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester City. However, no concrete negotiations have been reported to date.
Italian Star Maintains Elite Form
A product of AC Milan’s youth academy, Donnarumma moved to PSG in 2021 after several standout seasons with the Rossoneri. Since arriving in Paris, he has solidified his status as one of Europe’s premier shot-stoppers, racking up 47 appearances across all competitions in the 2024/25 season.
He made his senior debut for Milan in the 2015/16 campaign at just 16 years old, making 31 appearances and immediately drawing attention across the continent.
Midfield Now Madrid’s Transfer Priority
While Donnarumma’s future remains uncertain, Real Madrid’s immediate focus lies elsewhere. Under new manager Xabi Alonso, the club is prioritizing midfield reinforcements, with Chelsea’s Enzo Fernández reportedly topping their wishlist. The pursuit could lead to high-profile departures, with players such as Rodrygo, Eduardo Camavinga, and Fran García potentially used to fund the move.
